BAPTISM - Preparation for the Sacrament.
Practical things:
* Feed the child before the ceremony.
* Be sure that you can open the child's garments for the anointing.
* The mother should put her hand behind the child's neck, take off the cap and hold the child over the font. The water will be lukewarm.
* Sponsors will put their hands on the shoulders of the child while being baptised.
* The sponsor will hold the white garment/christening shawl until after the child is baptised. The white garment is put on the child after the Baptism.
* The father will hold the candle. The Baptismal candle costs €6.00 (approximately) and is available from local Card or Stationery shops.
* A donation to the priest and the sacristan is customary and would be appreciated. Please put offerings in separate envelopes.
* You are requested to be in the church 10 minutes before the christening.

Church of The Resurrection: 2nd & 4th Sunday of month at 1.00 p.m.
St. Mary's Church: 1st/2nd/3rd/4th Saturday of month at 5.00 p.m.(not on 5th Sat. when same occurs).
